Prolific Showcases PdM Edge Module for Smart Agriculture and Aquaculture
Prolific Technology Inc. continues to advance the commercialization of motor predictive maintenance (PdM) technology. Building on its collaboration with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to integrate PdM into smart agricultural automation equipment, the company is showcasing its newly developed PdM edge diagnostic module and smart aquaculture application architecture at the 2026 Smart Agriculture and Fisheries Expo. These developments mark the company’s progress from application validation toward a modular product portfolio.
Prolific’s PdM edge diagnostic module combines proprietary current and voltage signal processing technology with edge computing capabilities to capture motor operating data in real time. Through communication interfaces, the module can integrate with Edge AI and cloud analytics platforms, supporting the progressive development of a complete predictive maintenance architecture spanning sensing, edge computing, analysis and diagnostics, and application services. This architecture helps equipment operators monitor equipment health, track emerging anomalies, and determine when maintenance is needed.
In smart agriculture and aquaculture, Prolific continues to work with ITRI on agricultural automation applications while assessing monitoring requirements for motors that operate for extended periods, including those used in paddlewheel aerators, blowers, water circulation and drainage pumps, and automatic feeding equipment. By drawing on electrical signals, vibration, temperature, and other data, the company aims to reduce unexpected downtime and maintenance costs while improving the operational reliability of aquaculture equipment.
Looking ahead, Prolific will continue to standardize its PdM modules and expand their use across different applications. In addition to smart agriculture and aquaculture equipment, the company is exploring partnerships with businesses in industrial equipment, escalators, and other motor-driven applications, broadening opportunities for predictive maintenance technology in smart manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and energy management.
